Create a hand hooked nightscape “under the full moon”. Working with the absence of daylight, we will focus on choice of colour, materials, highlighting and most importantly, values. Hooking key elements of landscape - rocks, trees, sky, cloud and the way they appear in moonlight will be covered. If you plan to hook something other than a landscape the principals will be the same. I had fun hooking a simple fire hydrant under a full moon.
This course is perfect for students with some rug hooking experience that want to sharpen their sense of values, expand their knowledge and learn how to capture the beauty of a full moon with wool.

Note from teacher:  Please bring your: pattern, hooking tools, supplies and cutter (if you are coming with a friend sharing a cutter saves space!). Wool - you will need  to bring mostly darker colours in a variety of values (light, medium and dark) with some lighter & medium wools for highlights. Teacher will supply a variety of fibres to create sparkle & moonlight for all to use. Please feel free to bring anything you have that might be fun to try. There will also be a limited quantity of wool for sale.

Through the sale of their rugs, they are greatly improving both the lives of their families and their communities. Elaine’s entry, “Bertha at the Beach”, was the winner of the wide cut award at the 2012 OHCG annual. Outside of rug hooking Elaine is an Interior Designer, which is the other way she plays with colour and design.

Registration Note:  Elaine will be contacting each student, please be ready with photo of your pattern or the photo you are working from .This will enable Elaine to better cater to individual needs, answer questions about materials so we can be fully prepared
