fun quick punch
with Simone Vojvodin of Red Maple Ruggery
Saturday April 27, 2019 | 10am-5pm
Punch Needle is a fast and fun method of rug hooking! In this workshop, students will create a small 8" to 10" mat that can be used as a trivet, wall hanging, chair pad, or pillow front. There is something for everyone with nearly 20 different patterns and a gorgeous array of mill run and hand dyed wool yarns to choose from. We'll cover topics such as design, colour planning, how to use a punch needle, plus special tricks and techniques- the teacher will be there to encourage and guide you every step of the way. The finishing process will also be discussed. By the end of class students should have a solid enough foundation in punching to be confident in making larger rugs and other fabulous projects. Punch Needles can be borrowed during class time with the option to purchase after if students wish.
